AOPA and the Transition to Unleaded Fuel

The meeting focused on updates and discussions regarding unleaded aviation fuel transition and AOPA's role in supporting this process. First Friday with Dawson Frank, Discussing Airport Legislative & Funding Issues

The meeting focused on airport economic impacts and legislative efforts through WAMA, a lobbying organization that works on behalf of airports to track bills, draft legislation, and represent airports before legislative bodies. Discussion centered on aviation fuel taxes and proposed legislation for the upcoming 2026 session, including bills aimed at simplifying the tax process for airports and increasing funding for WSDOT's aeronautics account. The group reviewed ongoing legislative efforts regarding airport funding, with updates on draft bills and discussions about the challenges and educational value of these initiatives in the upcoming 60-day legislative session.
